Summary :

He was the first person to inspire her, to move her, to truly understand her. Was he meant to be the last?

Lucy is faced with a life-altering choice. But before she can make her decision, she must start her story—their story—at the very beginning.

Lucy and Gabe meet as seniors at Columbia University on a day that changes both of their lives forever. Together, they decide they want their lives to mean something, to matter. When they meet again a year later, it seems fated—perhaps they’ll find life’s meaning in each other. But then Gabe becomes a photojournalist assigned to the Middle East and Lucy pursues a career in New York. What follows is a thirteen-year journey of dreams, desires, jealousies, betrayals, and, ultimately, of love. Was it fate that brought them together? Is it choice that has kept them away? Their journey takes Lucy and Gabe continents apart, but never out of each other’s hearts.

 Review :

Short : Soap Opera with no depth . Not recommended .

You know I hate Bella Swan , don’t you ? If you’re okay with me hating the whiny Bella with a shiny vamp , then you’ll understand why I hate Lucy and her oh so romantic nature .

Have you ever been in the presence of someone who isn’t really mean but thinks it’s okay to joke about things that just are not funny ? This book is one of those written to joke about things that are not freaking funny . Remember Tiger’s curse ? This is that sort of book – people love it , but it’s mean low key .

I told that because this book literally offends and the author knows it . Unlike Tiger’s Curse , this isn’t Indians being offended this time.   It’s the women fiction itself that’s being offended here . And let’s not forget that the author keeps brushing every immoral thing off with a ‘ everyone does that ‘. Oh , rea-freaking-lly ?

Let me tell you , this is the worst contribution to women fiction . You know I’m never rude , don’t you ? But this book is so annoying I don’t even think it deserves a review .  I mean , the world is turning over and all these idiots care about is their ‘life changing ‘ romance ? Yeah , I can see where that’s going .

I’m honest . There’s nothing to care about in this book – I hate Lucy and Gabe and their romance . I love romances , but this is a sickening book that doesn’t deserve to be called romance because a romance is supposed to have gentle wooing and a SELF-LESS love . Lucy is the most selfish character and I hate everything that she is .

Lastly , there’s no real depth to the characters . Apparently , Gabe turns into a war photographer with no effort . And the same goes for Lucy who becomes a children program publisher . Can you guys tell me how that happened ? I could really use a bit of fame with no effort .

They never felt real and as for as the story , was it a 12 year old’s fantasy ? Or not . I remember that my 12 year girly fantasies were better than a hawt man and deep dark penetrating eyes that makes every girl blush ! Oh la ! If that is your idea of a fancy , pick this thing . Otherwise , don’t bother .

B & R  rating :  1 / 5

If you’ve read this book before , tell me what you think !
