Review : Sweets and Sin

Expected publication: July 2017

Genre : Contemporary romance

Summary :

What started out as a bad decision, spending one night with a stranger ends up being the beginning of Serena’s adventurous and chaotic trip across Europe. It sure does help that the bad decision comes packaged as the sinfully delicious and tempting Jimmy Nixon – Jimmy the criminal, the thief and all round sweet and alluring guy. His humour and flirtatious demeanor certainly helps her through the chaos that follows him, but will it be enough to get her out of the mess he dragged her in and back on her way without him? Or does she want to stay?

Jimmy Nixon, the man with many talents, one of which is not being a normal law-abiding citizen.
Constantly pulling his half-sister out of trouble he’s pretty much used to the disarray of his life, that is until the wild-eyed, beautiful girl named Serena stumbles into his life and drags him under all with a simple laugh. He can’t help but want to spend more time with her, even among the problems that surround them they manage to comfort one another in ways more than just physical.

The connection that sizzles between them grows every step of their journey, and the more time they spend together, the harder it starts to become for either to say goodbye and move on with their life.

My thoughts

This is the second book of the sinner series by Aneta Quinn .  The book starts off with introducing us to the male protagonist -who , I might add , is very handsome -and then the female protagonist , and then the story itself .

Serena swears , drinks , calls fake sickness at work-but for all that , she had never once tampered with rules . But here she was , arrested because of one stupid thing she did . She was Serena Adams , the girl who didn’t do ‘adventures ‘ . She was supposed to be on a holiday trip , but now she’s missed her train and is sitting in front of policemen , answering questions .

But when the guy responsible for her arrest turns up in front of her hotel , she isn’t able to resist running off with him , evading ‘police ‘ . As it turns out , she soon realizes she gets more than she bargained for . Serena tries to convince herself she isn’t doing something crazy , going places with a total stranger , but she isn’t so sure .

The book was light and not emotional . It was predictable for most part and the characters were unbelievably stupid at times , you might feel like throwing the book straight at their faces . The final part of the book was stratched and boring and unreal . I wasn’t able to feel what was going on , I was told and I listened .

I enjoyed reading the book , though , leaving out certain parts . Jimmy isn’t a jerk and that’s a refreshing break from all those typical over-bearing heroes of romances . I personally think Aneta has potential in her and she’ll be able to write better books in the future . This book is probably average-ish , because the plot wasn’t incredible .

Aneta Quinn has made something out of a pretty common plot and I hope she will grow further in her career as an author .

I received an ARC of the book in return for an honest review
